Rum Sodomy & The Lash
To mark the 40th anniversary of Rum Sodomy & The Lash, The Pogues are reissuing their landmark album with a wealth of bonus material. Originally released on August 5, 1985, the album captured the raw energy and poetic lyricism that solidified The Pogues as one of the most influential bands of their generation.
The reissue includes the original album plus a bonus disc featuring the Poguetry in Motion EP, tracks from the 1985 BBC Janice Long session, B-sides, and rare live versions of “A Pair of Brown Eyes” and “Sally MacLennane” from the Glasgow Barrowlands in 1987. Additionally, the bonus disc includes a rough mix of the band’s take on The Lovin’ Spoonful’s “Do You Believe in Magic.”
Produced by Elvis Costello, this was The Pogues’ second studio album, and its success helped cement their place in punk and folk history.
