Assassin's Creed Shadows
Ubisoft and Laced Records have renewed their adherence to the brotherhood to bring the music of Assassinâs Creed Shadows to vinyl. Assassinâs Creed Shadows transports players to the rich setting of feudal Japan, anchored by a soundtrack that fuses traditional instrumentation with playful modern techniques.
Composer duo The Flight (Joe Henson and Alexis Smith) return to the Assassinâs Creed series to provide a score that fuses traditional instrumentation with contemporary orchestral and electronic elements, creating a distinctive sense of time and place while playfully nodding to the seriesâ science-fiction themes.
The dual protagonists of Assassinâs Creed Shadows are represented with different instruments and musical approaches: stealthy shinobi adept Naoe by her in-game instrument of choice, the clay flute (tsuchibue) and disembodied whispering during stealth moments; and legendary samurai Yasuke with the sharper sounds of the stringed Shamisen and rhythmic intensity.
The Flight turned to master players for the performances of Japanese instruments, including Keiko Kitamura (koto) and Hibiki Ichikawa (shamisen). Other performers include vocalist Akari Mochizuki; flautists Kristin Naigus, Oriol Singh and Andy Findon; and The Flightâs musical collaborator on Assassinâs Creed Odyssey, Michael Georgiades.
