Originally released in 2003, Turkish Delight saw members of Aussie favourites Hoodoo Gurus step sideways into a playful, pseudonymous project—Persian Rugs—leaning even further into their love of ‘60s garage, psych and fuzzed-out pop. What began as a side-project quickly revealed itself as a fully realised extension of the Gurus’ sound, dialling up the vintage tones, loose energy and hook-driven songwriting.
Now finally making its debut on vinyl, Turkish Delight returns in an expanded 2LP edition, adding eleven additional studio tracks to the original release. The result is a deeper, more immersive dive into this era—packed with jangling guitars, swirling organ lines and that unmistakable garage-psych spirit that defined the project.
